“THE WOMAN AND THE CURRENT OF LIFE”

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Terēze Lība (2001, Latvia) is an artist based in Tilburg. She creates sculptural paintings on wood, using acrylic paint and natural materials such as sand and stone. Layer by layer, she sculpts, builds texture, and adds colour.

At the centre of Terēze Lība’s work stands the female figure: not as ornament, but as anchor. Her strength is unmistakable. She stands strong and tall – in wind, light, and silence – attuned to the rhythm of the world around her. Each piece holds a quiet tension between strength and surrender. Her figures are not heroines of action, but embodiments of inner composure: upright, calm, and assured.

Throughout this exhibition, themes of balance, trust, and transformation return like tides. Together, they form a meditation on how to move through change without losing one’s centre; how to yield to the ‘current’ without forgetting the ground beneath.

For Terēze Lība, art is a way to find harmony in uncertain times. Beauty becomes a form of refuge, inspiration, and hope.
